The Chapter House is a community hub run entirely by passionate volunteers. Whether you're welcoming visitors, brewing coffee, or keeping our space warm and inviting, your time and energy make everything we do possible.

What to Expect

  • The Role: Help open or close the shop, welcome community members, manage shop ambiance (lights, music, coffee), and assist with simple retail tasks.

  • Shifts: We offer two shifts per day across our regular operating hours (Monday–Thursday 10:00 AM–6:00 PM; Friday–Saturday 10:00 AM–9:00 PM).

  • Physical Requirements: Operations volunteers are asked to be able to lift up to 35 lbs or pair up with someone who can.

Ready to Get Started? (3 Simple Steps)

  1. Review our Volunteer Agreement

    Read our Volunteer Agreement & Information Form so you know what would be expected of you and the personal details we need to get started. All your information remains confidential, and we try our best to accommodate as many of your needs as possible.

  2. Come in for a conversation

    After you have familiarized yourself with our ideals, contact us to schedule an in-person conversation to answer any lingering questions you may have. When everyone feels comfortable, we’ll both sign the Agreement and schedule your onboarding!

  3. Get Onboarded

    Before assuming any shifts, you must complete two one-hour Training shifts (one opening and one closing) with a current Volunteer, who will walk you through our Standards and Operating Procedures.
